Create and manage apiaries

An apiary is the physical home for hives, map information, photos, and yard-level work.

Add an apiary

  1. Open Apiaries.
  2. Choose Add apiary.
  3. Enter a name that will remain clear in task lists and reports.
  4. Add the address, coordinates, notes, and operating status that apply.
  5. Add a yard photo when it helps identify the location.
  6. Save the apiary.

After saving, open the apiary from the list to review its hives and current details.

Set the location

You can search for an address or place the location from the map controls. Confirm the pin before saving, especially when several yards share a mailing address.

Update or close an apiary

Edit the apiary when its name, location, notes, or operating status changes. Prefer an inactive status for a yard you may need to reference later.

Deleting an apiary does not silently erase its hives. Any preserved hive records can become unassigned, so review them and place them in the correct apiary.

Keep yard records useful

  • Use stable names rather than temporary directions.
  • Put access instructions and site notes on the apiary.
  • Put colony observations on inspections, not in general yard notes.
  • Create tasks for dated work instead of burying it in notes.
